With familiarity, you can even practice self-hypnosis at home.
No, you cannot get stuck in hypnosis. The hypnotherapist's role is to guide you smoothly back to full awareness. While in deep hypnosis, your focus is on specific matters, and you're usually very relaxed. However, you will naturally return to an alert state, and if something like a fire alarm goes off, you will hear it and respond appropriately, just like anyone else.
You can likely be hypnotized. The most important factors are your willingness and an open mind. If you come with these, you’ll do just fine. Hypnotic susceptibility is a skill that can be developed, so over time, you’ll likely notice that you can quickly enter a deep state of hypnosis on your own as you progress through our sessions.
There's no magic button to solve problems instantly, and your involvement in this process is just as significant as mine. Our work extends beyond the treatment room, and there may be tasks for you to complete between sessions, such as keeping a thought/mood/food diary or listening to a self-hypnosis recording daily. While we can accomplish a lot during our sessions, the more you commit to the process, the more you'll experience positive changes.
